June 20th Charlotte, Robin & Raven, Thank you for making our stay in Elliston so welcoming and special from beginning to end.Your new effieciency unit was spacious and extremely comfortable. It was amazing to wake up to such a beautiful view of the ocean. Our cliff hike was stunning and memorable...a wonderful ending to our time here. June 22, 2010 Yes! We found the "lost keys" of Jean and Dale at the parking place Spillers Cove! There we had our last hiking in the evening. After a very good meal at Nanny's Root Cellar Kitchen restaurant. A must for every guest of Bird Island Inn! We also loved the breakfast the first morning and the new cottage the next two days. We havent seen icebegs and whales, but plenty puffins and the little beautiful black guillemot with the red legs. One day storm and rain, two days sunshine, so no complaining. August 6th This cozy spot with the water front view ranks as a highlight of our 2 week holiday in Newfoundland. We enjoyed dining at the Orange Hall, poking around the root cellars and visiting the puffin lookout on our first day. But the second day knocked us out of the ballpark with the "Off the cooks" tour hike along the cliffs of Spillars Cove where we explored the views from this spectacular spot..and a large pot of whales frolicked close by to add to the wonder of it all...and we felt honoured to join you in an evening kayak viewing of birdisland were the the whales frolicked about us and the puffins powered through the air at eye level...unforgettable! August 8th We had a lovely stay. The whales were waiting for us in the harbour when we arrived. Woke this morning to a beautiful scene and had tea while listening to the birds and stream.
